Use a tractor beam to take out enemies

Mr. Pain is a free puzzle game with a quirky and twisted sense of humor. Using a laser gun, you must wipe out all of our enemies, who will explode into showers of cartoon blood and bone once you slay them.

There are many games featuring laser guns, but Mr. Pain differs from the likes of Galaxy Shooter - Space Attack and Chicken Invaders due to its puzzle-solving element. Shooting your enemy is the easy part. The trickier aspect is working out what to do with them after they're shot.

Throw your enemies to their deaths

In each level of Mr. Pain, the player takes control of a character who must destroy each on-screen "man in black" with a laser gun. The twist is that the laser does not kill the enemies directly. Instead, it acts as a tractor beam. By swiping the screen, you can hurl your enemies into pits of deadly spikes.

Deadly traps and laser-proof enemies

The range of death traps into which you can throw your foes expands as the game progresses. The beds of spikes are joined by spinning sawblades and giant axes. On some levels, you will face enemies who are laser-proof. In these cases, you need to send the traps to your foes rather than vice versa.

Bosses and character skins

If you progress far enough, you will unlock new skins to play as different characters. You can also expect to encounter boss enemies who will take multiple hits to kill, along with civilian characters that must not be hurt.

More humorous than challenging

The fact that none of the enemies can fight back means that Mr. Pain lacks challenge. It was clearly designed to be comedic more than tricky. There is plenty of gross-out humor to be found as the enemy characters are thrown to their gruesome deaths, bouncing like bleeding ragdolls.
